He completed his medical studies at the Faculty of General Medicine at Semmelweis University with “summa cum laude” honors. He obtained his general surgery and vascular surgery specializations with excellent grades. With an Alexander von Humboldt scholarship, he worked for 2 years at the Surgical Clinic of Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, and then for 2 years at the Vascular Surgery Department of the Mayo Clinic.
At the age of 35, he became a department head at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of Semmelweis University. In 1996, he was appointed as a university professor. In 2007, he was asked to lead the vascular surgery department at the Honvéd Hospital, where he worked actively until 2019.
Throughout his career, he has performed more than 14,000 surgeries. His professional activities cover the entire spectrum of vascular surgery. As a member and president of numerous national and international scientific societies, he actively participated in the development of the field. He has given more than 400 scientific presentations, mainly at international forums. He is a co-author of several textbooks and the author of about 200 professional publications. For several decades, he has been one of the main figures in vascular surgery training.

We provide modern imaging techniques for the clarification and periodic monitoring of diseases of the brain, thoracic and abdominal aorta, major branches, and limb vessels. We perform various interventions on the venous system: sclerotherapy for reticular and small branch varicosities, thrombus removal for small superficial venous thrombosis, sclerotization or removal of regional vascular malformations (hemangiomas) and localized varicosities under local anesthesia, aesthetic and endovenous (radiofrequency) treatment of lower limb varicosities under regional tumescent anesthesia, traditional surgical treatment of lower limb varicosities under general anesthesia in a day surgery setting. We also provide consultation, diagnostics, and conservative treatment for lymphatic diseases.
